"David has been a great drum teacher for my daughter and has been a great influence on my daughter musically. He always comes into a lesson full of enthusiasm. He does a great job of blending basic drum skills and technique with more fun and current music. I love that he lets my daughter choose some of the music that she would like to learn with music of his own choosing. He also suggests a variety of music that my daughter should listen to. This encourages my daughter to expand her musical ear. My daughter loves going to her drum lessons! David is not my daughter's first drum teacher nor my daughter's first music teacher. My daughter has studied multiple instruments, for a combined 9 years. So when I say that David is a very effective and efficient teacher, I actually have a lot to compare him to. I would highly recommend David as a drum teacher." -- Liz K.
"My son Nathan wanted to play drums for a long time and we went to several music schools to see which one he liked the most. When we met David, we felt an immediate connection. Not only was he very professorial and knowledgeable, but his great personality made every lesson a fun experience. I don't know much about drums, but I know that every week Nathan is very eager to see David. Thank you for being such a great teacher!" -- Julia K.
"In only a few lessons, I can play my first full rock song on the drums, and it's been a ton of fun learning. Dave's a knowledgeable and fun teacher." -- Josh J.
"As a bass guitar student, I intended to take 2 or 3 drum lessons to help round out my experience. After one lesson I was hooked- now I have weekly lessons and am amazed at my progress. Dave has a great personality that immediately puts you at ease, but don’t think that means he’ll let you slack. He really believes in your ability to master this and will push you to try things outside of your comfort zone. There’s something about drumming that is completely zen. I told Dave this and he nodded approvingly like Mr. Miyagi. Drums are the martial arts of rock- and GC Drums is my beloved dojo. Where else can you walk out from your loop office, go wail away on the skins for awhile and then emerge transformed, perfectly calm and ready for what awaits? Ask the Zen Master." -- Bridget G.
