Most of the students that take lessons at Guitar Chicago are part of their private instruction program. Lessons are available 7 days a week and are available all day. Whether you have never played an instrument before, you have just started "noodling" around with the guitar, bass, piano, or drums, or if you just want to brush up on a song, our instructors can help. Pick any song you would like to learn on the instrument of your choice, if you don't have the music, we can learn the song by ear! Our 5-week "Choose Your Song" private instruction course will focus on proper mechanics in the first lesson; following that, we will cater a program specifically for the song you want to learn. Guitar Chicago's "Playcation" program allows you to book an extended 2-hour lesson (even if you are not a current student of Guitar Chicago). If you want to spend a few hours learning a song, brush up on some technique, or you are new to the instrument and want to dive in to learning, this program is for you! Beginning Tablature/Chord Reading The Beginning Tablature/Chord Reading class will be starting in late Summer 2011. The exact start date will be announced shortly. This class will meet at our 150 N. Michigan Avenue location. The class meets once a week and will cover between 3-5 songs. This is a 6-week course.
Introduction to Guitar Guitar Chicago's Introduction to Guitar class is a 6-week course which meets for an hour per week on Saturdays. Proper mechanics, beginning chords, and song application of those chords are taught, as well as beginning improvisation and note values. Class size is limited to 6 people, so you will get personal attention during your classes (and they will typically book quickly). Classes are held from 12:15-1:15. If needed, guitars can be provided at no additional cost. The next term will be near the end of Summer 2011, and is held at our 150 N Michigan Ave. location.
Cavern Club Course We now feature our Cavern Club Course! This is a class for beginners and will cover songs from the Beatles. You will have a chance to step into John and George's Chelsea Boots and learn some of the Fab Four's classics! This is a 6-week course that will cover proper mechanics, rhythm, and lead guitar. The next term will be near the end of Summer 2011. This course will be limited to 6 people, so registration will fill up quickly! Classes are held at our 150 N Michigan Ave location.
